Niobium is the market leader in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and Privacy Preserving Technologies, which bridge the gap between encryption at rest and encryption in transit with encryption in action. Process, analyze, and query sensitive data without ever decrypting it.

We are developing market-driven software solutions and FHE hardware acceleration that protect sensitive data while in use for innovation-driven organizations.

Niobium is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and has offices in Columbus, Ohio, Portland, Oregon, and San Francisco, California.

Kevin Yoder

President & CEO

Kevin Yoder is the  Chief Executive Officer and serves on the Board of Directors. In his role as CEO, Kevin focuses on strategic direction, team development, and commercial activities. Most recently Yoder was the Head of Sales and Marketing at Lantronix, a company focused on hardware and software for IoT markets. Prior to Lantronix, Kevin spent six years at Avago Technologies (now Broadcom) as Vice President of Sales and Marketing serving the needs of the company’

fourteen business units. In this role, Yoder was responsible for direct, distribution, and reseller sales in the Americas and for the company’s outbound marketing strategies. Additionally Mr. Yoder played a key role in Avago’s acquisition and integration of six companies. Kevin also spent a combined nineteen years time in various sales and sales management roles at Texas Instruments and Analog Devices. In addition to these two large corporations he also held Director and Vice President roles at startups XMOS and CoWare.

Yoder earned his B.S.E.E. from the University of Notre Dame and he is an active angel investor and a member of Irish Angels and Vitalize Ventures and has served on the board of two non-profit organizations.

David Archer, Ph.D.

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Archer is a Principal Scientist leading Cryptography & Multiparty Computation for Galois, Inc. with customers including DARPA, the NSA, IARPA and the Department of Homeland Security.

Dr. Archer has over 30 years of R&D experience in complex ASIC, system hardware, software architectures, secure computation, and cryptography.

David holds a PhD in Computer Science from Portland State University, an MS in Electrical Engineering and BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Georgios Dimou, Ph.D.

Chief Scientist

Dr. Dimou has over 20 years of experience in hardware design with expertise spanning from architecture to implementation both for DIB and commercial applications.

Dr. Dimou’s efforts span digital signal processing, AI, Neuromorphic computing, asynchronous circuit design, and low-power design techniques.

Georgios holds a BS in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete in Greece, and MS and PhD. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Matt Farrell

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Farrell brings experience in operational excellence amid dynamic growth. He has held a variety of leadership roles including founder and early team member at early-stage and growth-stage venture-backed companies.

Mr. Farrell has a demonstrated history of creating significant value as a member of several highly recruited executive teams which span the world’s most competitive industries.

Vahab Alemzadeh

Vice President Engineering

Mr. Alemzadeh has a proven record of highly effective management practices. He has established, managed, and delivered projects in the areas of semiconductors and enterprise system solutions.

Mr. Alemzadeh brings experience that spans Fortune 500 firms as well as entrepreneurial businesses developing transformative solutions. His competencies range from hands-on technical knowledge to budget and resource management, from customer engagement to vendor management. He’s worked across the entire product lifecycle for the entirety of his career.

Vahab earned his MBA / MSE from San Jose State University after he earned his BSEE from the University of California Irvine.

Luke Duncan, Ph.D.

Senior Fellow

Dr. Duncan has over a decade of experience in the research & development of advanced integrated circuit designs spanning analog, RF, mixed-signal, and digital systems.

Dr. Duncan’s research interests include high- performance direct-RF transceivers, hardware security, and mixed-signal circuits for 5G communications and radar systems.

Tanner Powers

Vice President Demand Creation

In his role as VP & Chief of Staff at Niobium, Tanner focuses on Niobium’s commercial demand, as well as fundraising, FP&A, HR, and general strategic direction.

Most recently, Tanner graduated from UVA Darden, where he was a VC Associate at multiple funds and provided advisory services to several seed-stage startups. Furthermore, before Darden, he spent a year at SidelineSwap (a Series A marketplace) focusing on Strategy and Finance. Before that, he spent over five years at EY, where he was a Manager within Financial Services Consulting. Tanner also enjoys teaching, and often goes back to Darden where he teaches classes on PE/VC, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship.

Tanner earned his MBA from University of Virginia Darden School of Business and his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.

Robert Wiltbank, Ph.D.

Board Observer

Dr. Wiltbank has an accomplished career focusing on strategic alignment and commercialization efforts – all of which is founded on his research on strategy-making under uncertainty and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Rob completed his PhD. in Strategic Management at the University of Washington and undergraduate work in finance and accounting at Oregon State University. He is widely referenced for his academic research on angel investing returns and entrepreneurial expertise. He is co-author of two books, Effectual Entrepreneurship and The Catalyst, as well as many academic articles.
